Residents of Newington Village will be among the first to have the opportunity to taste authentic barbeque Indian cooking when Vari Bar and Restaurant opens its new purpose built barbeque facilities in mid-July.
As construction nears completion, Vari chefs carry out last minute inspection to give it their seal of approval to ensure they can deliver meals of comparable quality to that of the main restaurant but al fresco style.
Restaurant owner and manager Kunwar Sood, in conjunction with his team of master chefs, has already started preparing a tantalising selection of meals that include (and several other delicacies from fine Indian cuisine):
GRILLED CHICKEN BREAST, marinated in rich ginger garlic paste, crushed pepper corns, with fresh thyme, parsley & coriander and chef?s “potli masala?s” (a careful blend of exotic herbs and spcies)
BABY BACK LAMB RIBS, marinated in a freshly made ginger garlic paste and sprinkled rosemary herbs. The meat is then soaked in La Lande Rouge, Vin de Pays de l'Herault from South West France
GRILLED TILAPIA FILLET (boneless fish), marinated with a freshly made mustard paste and smoked to perfection of a coal fire
GRILLED PRAWN, marinated in lemon juice, ginger, salt, crushed pepper corns and mint
GRILLED VEGETABLES, bell peppers, courgettes and a grilled tomato drizzled with basil and pesto sauce
The Vari barbeque will be open at weekends throughout the summer, giving customers the opportunity to chill-out from their busy lifestyles, relaxing in a quiet village location and enjoying the taste of freshly seasoned and prepared Indian food. Prices start from at little at £10.
Staff at Vari Bar and Restaurant want their customers’ to have a dining experience to savour, whether eating at the barbeque or in the restaurant, enjoying authentic Indian cuisine and friendly service in a warm relaxing environment.
